Joy Behar Tries To Laugh Off Whoopi Goldberg Scandal On The View Today: “You all saw the news”

Sharing is caring!

Joy Behar addressed the Whoopi Goldberg scandal today on The View with a laugh and a smile hoping the world will forget what Whoopi said before quickly moving on. But a two-week suspension, considering the reports coming from inside ABC of furious and frustrated employees, may not be enough to make people forget.

But Joy tried her bets anyway saying when the View came on the air today: “You all saw the news. Whoopi will be back in two weeks. Ok.”

Ana Navarro said yesterday: “I love Whoopi Goldberg. I love The View. This was an incredibly unfortunate incident. Whoopi is a lifelong ally to the Jewish community. She is not an antisemite. Period. I am sad. And I have nothing else to say.”

ABC News president Kim Godwin said When suspending Whoopi: “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments.

“While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family, and communities.”

Goldberg said on “The View,” Tuesday:

“I tweeted about it last night but I kind of want you to hear it from me directly. I feel a responsibility.

“My words upset so many people, which was never my intention. I understand why. The information I got was really helpful.

“I said the Holocaust wasn’t about race and was instead about man’s inhumanity to man. It is indeed about race because Hitler and the Nazis considered Jews to be the inferior race.

“Words matter and mine are no exception. I regret my comments and I stand corrected.”

The Daily Beast reported on ABC executive said, “People are really upset and don’t understand why it took two days”and multiple sources said that Goldberg’s co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Ana Navarro are furious with the network’s decision.
