Report: Joe Biden Gives Ultimatum To Border Chief – He Only Got 3 Options: Relocate, Retire, Or Resign

Sharing is caring!

The southern border situation remains a hot button issue for many Americans, and the Biden administration continues to struggle with addressing the problem.

It’s likely that many changes could be made in the coming months and years, and that includes adding and replacing border personnel. But such moves might be driven more by politics than anything else.

And that’s what has happened — according to sources, a border patrol veteran just got forced out of his job.

Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott has spent nearly three decades protecting the U.S. He dedicated 29 years of his life to law enforcement and his reputation and work history is stellar.

On the surface, it wouldn’t seem necessary to replace him, given his record.

And yet, that’s exactly what the Biden administration has done:

Scott has been ordered to “resign, retire, or relocate” immediately. And they don’t need to give him a reason for the decision, either.

The news comes courtesy of several anonymous sources speaking to the Washington Examiner:

One person said the move was not related to Scott’s performance over the past 18 months or how he has handled the surge of people coming across the southern border since President Joe Biden took office.

Instead, the move was ‘completely driven by politics,’ even though Scott’s position is apolitical and he is a 29-year law enforcement official at the Border Patrol.

Scott told regional chiefs around the country about the move in a video conference on Wednesday.

And according to three people familiar with that conversation, the decision to oust Scott fell to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who has come under heavy scrutiny in 2021 for the border crisis.

But again, it seems Scott wasn’t relieved of command for any good reason.

One person called the move “unprecedented,” and another said it was almost entirely political. But for Scott’s part, he remained classy in his response to the decision.

As he wrote on Facebook:

I received my 3R letter today. For those not familiar, that is Federal government slang for the letter issued to [Senior Executive Service] level employees informing them of a directed reassignment.

The recipient has 3 options- relocate, resign, or retire. No rationale or reason is required, nor is it disciplinary.

He thanked everyone who has supported him over the years, and says he remains “confident that God is in control.” And he added that 29 years “is a pretty good run.”

However, many are going to demand more answers. If this wasn’t political and the Biden administration had reason to replace Scott, shouldn’t they make that reason public?

And what will Scott’s replacement do to improve the border situation? Was Scott not doing something he should’ve been doing?

Perhaps he deserves answers to these questions, as does the American public.

Key Takeaways:

  • Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott has been reportedly forced out of his position.
  • Sources claim the move was “entirely political” and not based on any performance issue.
  • Scott was given no reason for the decision, but remains humble in his farewell letter and says he believes “God is in control.”
