Schumer Digs His Party’s Grave with Major Vote – Chuck Sets Up Democrat Showdown with GOP, But They’re Not Worried

Sharing is caring!

Democrats have been scrambling since a leaked report revealed the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade.

In the Senate, Chuck Schumer is rushing ahead with a bill that would legalize abortion at the federal level. It’s unlikely to pass, but he’s saying he’s trying to pressure Republicans.

From The Hill:

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is vowing that Republicans will have to answer to voters if they oppose enshrining Roe v. Wade protections into law. Senate Republicans appear willing to take that bet.

Republicans, however, don’t seem all that worried about voting against an abortion bill.

From The Hill:

The GOP is shrugging off a showdown over codifying the right to an abortion, taking the gamble that they won’t pay a political price in November. Schumer is poised to force a vote Wednesday on a bill supported only by Democrats in the wake of a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion penned by conservative Justice Samuel Alito that supports striking down Roe v. Wade.

Democrats are leaning hard on polls that suggest Americans are against the overturning of Roe v. Wade. But those polls don’t tell us the whole story, especially when millions of Americans have marched since the 1970s to end that court ruling.

Republicans know that supporting an end to Roe is a victory for their party. And it is unlikely to be a major issue going into November, considering the state that the economy’s in.

Democrats seem desperate to distract from Biden’s colossal failures. But the bill they are pushing goes beyond what even most pro-choice voters support.

From Fox News:

A bill pushed by Democrats in the wake of the leaked Supreme Court decision would force Christian doctors to perform abortions even if they hold religious reason not to, religious freedom advocates warn.

In addition to this, the bill would allow abortions, even up to the ninth month of pregnancy. That is something even moderate Democrats oppose.

Regardless of that, Democrats are being dishonest about the upcoming Supreme Court ruling. An overturn of Roe would not ban abortion.

It simply gives states the power to decide abortion policy themselves. Once voters realize this, the hysteria being pushed by the radical left will fizzle out.

Most Americans already know this and welcome the change. Democrats are just hurtling toward failure, as usual.

Key Takeaways:

  • Schumer is forcing a vote on an abortion bill, which is doomed to fail.
  • Republicans do not fear opposing the bill, knowing it will not affect November.
  • The radical bill would violate religious rights and push extreme abortion policy.
