Three More Top Executives At Twitter Turn In Resignations As Elon Musk Takeover Looms

Sharing is caring!

Three more top Twitter executives are leaving the social media platform as Elon Musk’s impending purchase as many employees look to flee. Musk put his deal to buy Twitter on hold while he probes the fake account problem.

Ilya Brown, a VP of product management; Katrina Lane, VP of Twitter Service; and Max Schmeiser, head of data science, are leaving the company according to Bloomberg. A Twitter spokeswoman confirmed the executives’ departures to Bloomberg.

Less than a week ago, Twitter announced a major shake-up firing two top product executives. Twitter also made budget cuts and started a hiring freeze last week with the CEO Parag Agrawal telling employees recently:

“Leaders will continue making changes to their organizations to improve efficiencies as needed.”

According to Techcrunch:

“There’s been plenty of shakeups at Twitter’s senior level in recent weeks, and not just because of Musk’s indecision about his potential $44 billion purchase.

“Just last week, Agrawal ousted two key executives: revenue product lead Bruce Falck and head of product Kayvon Beykpour, who was on parental leave at the time.

“Beykpour said that Agrawal, who has been CEO for under six months, asked him to leave because he wants to “take the team in a different direction.”

According to Axios:

“Twitter’s board said Tuesday that it plans to “close the transaction and enforce the merger agreement” between Elon Musk and Twitter, The New York Times reports.

“The board and Mr. Musk agreed to a transaction at $54.20 per share,” Twitter’s board said in a statement to The New York Times.

“We believe this agreement is in the best interest of all shareholders. We intend to close the transaction and enforce the merger agreement.”
