Kevin McCarthy Gives Dems Last Chance To Dump Joe Biden, Directs Jim Jordan To Open Formal Impeachment Inquiry

Sharing is caring!

Speaker Kevin McCarthy just directed the GOP-controlled house to open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

McCarthy said: “These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption and warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives. That’s why today I am directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.”

Kevin said James Comer, Jason Smith, and Jim Jordan will lead the impeachment inquiry. Kevin said earlier: “To open an impeachment inquiry is a serious matter, and House Republicans will not take it lightly or use it for political purposes.

“The American people deserve to be heard on this matter through their elected representatives.

“That’s why, if we move forward with an impeachment inquiry, it would occur through a vote on the floor of the People’s House and not through a declaration by one person.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) threatened to get rid of McCarthy as Speaker if he didn’t get tough with Biden. The government runs out of money at the end of the month and many in the GOp want Kevin to play hardball.

According to Punchbowl News:

Speaker Kevin McCarthy plans to tell House Republicans in a closed meeting this week that launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden is the “logical next step” in the GOP’s probes of the president and his son, Hunter Biden.

McCarthy and the House Republican leadership scheduled a closed-door session for Thursday morning so that members could get an update on the investigations led by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and House Oversight Committee Chair Jamie Comer (R-Ky.).
