Kristi Noem Delivers Her New Speaker Prediction – “80% Chance” It Will Be This Guy
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is out and the race is on to determine who will replace him. McCarthy was ousted from his seat on Tuesday after eight Republicans joined all present Democrats to force him from the chair.
Several candidates have declared their intentions to seek the speaker’s gavel. This Red State governor believes there is one Republican who has the clout to secure the gavel over any other candidate. He’s from Ohio, he’s respected, and he’s investigating alleged Biden family corruption.

“There’s an 80% chance it’s gonna be Jim Jordan. I think he’s probably the guy that most members will land on and give the chance to do it,” said Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD).
Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana is also running to succeed McCarthy but Noem believes Jordan has the edge. She pointed out that the speaker’s job is difficult, and it takes someone who can handle the high expectations of the person wielding the gavel.
Jordan is the chair of the House Judiciary Committee and its Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. McCarthy also pegged Jordan as the lead Republican in the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
Jordan’s experience in Congress and his reputation as a tenacious fighter for the Constitution could prove to be the key qualities that garner him the support among Republicans. He’ll need the backing of all Republicans to avoid what happened to McCarthy.
“I do think that there’s going to have to be someone who’s proven that they’ll fight when it’s important, someone who will investigate the corruption in Washington, D.C.,… they’ll probably land on Jim Jordan,…” Noem said.
Republicans will need to sort through the candidates and decide on a new House Speaker so they can get back to the people’s business sooner than later. Whoever wins the gavel will likely be in for a wild ride trying to work through everything that lies ahead during a contentious 2024 presidential election.
