Yesterday, Capitol Hill was in turmoil over Nancy Pelosi’s recent demands.
Much like the CDC, Pelosi flip-flopped, requiring vaccinated House members, visitors, and staff to wear masks.
She went even further, calling on the police to arrest anyone that refused to comply.
Well, it seems like this is the line in the sand for many Republicans. Because they fought back and hard.
Republican Rep. Barry Moore (AL) slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on her unconditional surrender to the Chinese coronavirus by forcing congressional members and staff to wear special “well-fitted” super masks and ordered the U.S. Capitol Police to arrest those who do not comply.
And he’s not the only one. From the Daily Caller:
[Rep. Thomas] Massie called the rule “INSANE” and refused to follow the mask mandate in a Thursday tweet.
“This is INSANE. Might as well come into my office and arrest my entire staff,” Massie tweeted. “We are not wearing masks. I support the Capitol Hill Police, but the Chief of Police made a mistake here. The physician and the chief of police don’t have this authority.”
Apparently, this revolt is having an effect. Because the Capitol Police were forced to back down.
From The Epoch Times:
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) reversed a decision to arrest people who do not comply with Tuesday’s reinstatement of the mask mandate, saying instead that the consequence for violators will be removal from the buildings.
It seems, these days, nothing gets done without an uprising. Pelosi demanded staff and visitors wear masks or face arrest.
Republicans fought back. Some called her a tyrant. Others openly defied her orders, including their staff.
Rep. Massie blatantly said neither he nor his office will obey her latest, seemingly unscientific rule.
Soon after this uproar, the Capitol Police backed down from their stance. They won’t arrest anyone for not wearing a mask. They’ll just kick them out.
A victory, but still not great. The point wasn’t that the cops would arrest someone, but that Pelosi thought she could mandate something like a dictator.
Americans are in no way pleased with the CDC’s seemingly baseless reason for changing their mask rules. Many are questioning the science and bashing the government for demanding we blindly obey.
Republicans on Capitol Hill are seeing success in their rebellion. Perhaps Americans should follow suit?
- Republicans pushed back after Pelosi ordered police to arrest anyone not wearing a mask.
- Some representatives openly defied the order, saying their offices will not comply.
- This forced Capitol Police to back down, reversing their previous policy.
