Dem Staffers Doom Pelosi As Majority Of Dem Capitol Hill Aides Think GOP Will Win House In 2022 And Fire Nancy

Sharing is caring!

Nancy Pelosi just got some terrible news from inside Capitol Hill and it should make her very nervous about keeping her job. A very connected news outlet, Punchbowl News, just released a survey that spells doom for Pelosi.

Because less than half of Democrat senior Capitol Hill aides, 48 percent, believe Democrats can keep the House in the 2022 midterms. This marks the first time a majority of Democrat aides think the GOP will win the House and remove Pelosi from the Speaker’s chair according to Punchbowl.

The number of Democrats who believed Pelosi will keep the gavel after the midterm is down by four points since June, showing momentum for the GOP while Pelosi flails about trying to keep her caucus in line.

Punchbowl News reported:

We have some brand new results from The Canvass, a tracking poll of senior Capitol Hill aides from both parties, powered by the Locust Street Group.

The biggest news: For the first time since we started the survey, a majority of Democratic staffers now believe their party will lose their House majority in 2022.

This comes as a key House Democratic moderate, Rep. Ron Kind of Wisconsin, announced his retirement.

So the nervousness about their future is growing in Democratic ranks.

This is something Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House will watch very closely.

Then Vice President Joe Biden saw what happened to Barack Obama when Democrats lost their majority in 2010, and he knows what that means for the Democratic agenda.

From Breitbart:

The poll also revealed that the momentum in the Senate for the Republicans is strong. A majority (51 percent) of the Republicans also believes that the Republicans could possibly take back the Senate as well.

Interestingly enough, that number is up by 14 points since June.

The survey was conducted anonymously between July 12 and 30 online through Locust Street Group, partnering with Punchbowl News.

The survey asked 151 senior Capitol Hill aides, which includes chiefs of staff, legislative directors, communications directors, press secretaries, and staff directors.

Punchbowl News previously said the reason for polling aides is “Members of Congress are the ones with the election certificates, but, in many cases, their aides hold outsized power. Senior staffers are the gatekeepers and, in many cases, the decision-makers.”
