Barack Obama Goes To Europe, Trashes Donald Trump: ‘Some of our progress stalled when my successor decided to unilaterally pull out of the Paris Agreement, I wasn’t real happy about that’

Sharing is caring!

Former President Barack Obama went to Europe to give a speech in Glasgow and took some swipes at former President Donald Trump in the process.

Obama said: “Of course some of our progress stalled when my successor decided to unilaterally pull out of the Paris agreement in his first year in office. I wasn’t real happy about that.

“Have been constrained in large part by the fact that one of our two major parties has decided not only to sit on the sidelines, but express active hostility toward climate science, and make climate change a partisan issue.

“Vote like your life depends on it, because it does. When it comes to climate, time really is running out, we are nowhere near where we need to be.

“The U.S. is back and in moving more boldly. The U.S. is not alone.

“There are times where I feel discouraged. There are times where the future seems somewhat bleak.

“There are times where I am doubtful that humanity can get its act together before it’s too late.

“We can’t afford hopelessness.

“It will set the United States on course to meet its new climate targets.

“It was particularly discouraging to see the leaders of two of the world’s largest emitters, China and Russia, decline to even attend the proceedings, and their national plans reflect what appears to be a dangerous lack of urgency.

“All of us have a part to play. All of us have work to do. All of us have sacrifices to make” on climate.

“But those of us who live in wealthy nations, those of us who helped to precipitate the problem we have an added burden.”
