Jen Psaki Fires Back At Boebert For Heckling Biden, Lauren Responds: “The left is pissed because I called out Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki fired back at Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo. For heckling President Joe Biden during his big State of the Union speech last night. Psaki went on MSNBC to try to keep the spin going that Biden has turned a corner and now has momentum enough to outpace inflation.
She is wrong and inflation may have been knocked out of the news cycle for a day but it will not last. She was asked, “Jen, one of the headlines that emerged from the speech last night was a pair of Republican House members who chose to heckle President Biden as he was speaking about his late son, Beau. Do you have any response to what they said?”
Psaki responded: Not really, Jonathan, I have to tell you that during that heckling, which, I was watching that on TV with a group of my team, team members and colleagues, and we were all excited and cheering.
“And that was the moment in the speech where the president was talking about his unity agenda, and talking about priorities that we should all be able to agree on.
“Look, one American dies every five minutes of an opioid overdose.
“There’s no question we should do more to help our nation’s veterans, people who have been hurt by the impacts of burn pits. Of course, we need to do more to work together to cure cancer.
“And they were heckling around that time and that moment.
“I think that says a lot more about them than it does about how important these priorities are, and how much the vast majority of people who are sitting there watching in that chamber last night could work together to solve exactly those problems.
“And others too, probably,” she said.
Boebert fired back on social media: “The left is pissed because I called out Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that left 13 of America’s finest in a flag-draped coffin.
“They are mad because a speech was “interrupted. Ask the families who lost their loved ones how interrupted their lives are now.”
Boebert heckled Biden twice during his speech. Biden was talking about soldiers who came home sick from Iraq and Afghanistan because of toxic burn pits and the cancers that would one day put them in a “flag-draped coffin” when Boebert jumped in with:
“You put them in 13 of them,” she said in reference to the 13 flag-draped coffins that came home from Afghanistan.
Boebert and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., also started chanting “build the wall” when Biden pivoted to immigration.

Boebert also wore a “Drill Baby Drill” outfit to the speech. She told Fox News:
“Ramping domestic energy production will tame inflation, boost our economy, and secure the safety and security of the United States of America and our allies.”
